In the last 12 months I have run over one and a half thousand miles, I have run five days a week every week in the last twelve months and since October done three gym sessions a week on top of my runs.

My body fat when I started was 33%, today its less than 9%.

In the six months since my first Marathon I have knocked off one hour, 21 minutes from my Marathon time to run a sub four hour Marathon.

I have run eleven marathons (nine training Marathons and two official)since my first one in October through rain, sun and blizzards & in driving hail across the mountains.

The longest I have run in a day is fifty five miles, just to get up the next morning to run another 46.2 the following day.

In the last twelve months I’ve suffered Achilles Tendinopathy, Stress Fractures, Bilateral Systematic Sprained Ankles, Blisters, Shin Splints, Dehydration & Idiopathic Oedema of the ankles.

What has driven me on? You. I want to thank everyone who has believed in me, supported me and sponsored me. So far the amount raised stands at €4,403.57 and there is still money pledged that is yet to be included. Your money will help make the difference to a dying child and their family at the end and at the worst time of their lives.

Thank you also to my coach Rory Coleman (www.rorycoleman.co.uk) for his guidance and advice in my training, and to Thomas Crawford Fitzsimons (www.dryingout.org) for his continued support and friendship, you are mate, an inspiration.

But most of all I want to thank one person in particular, my wife Fiona. With her immense support, love, patience and encouragement she helped me find in myself a strength that had been laying dormant for years. She has been a tower of strength and her belief in me unwavering. To her I say with all of my heart, “Thank You, I’m truly blessed to have you as my wife.”

Now bring on the race!
